              SHORT SEA SHIPPING

Our strategy for the regional integration of French Guiana will also be strengthened by our project
to create a short Sea Shipping service (short-distance maritime transport service - TMCD), linking the
              Guiana Shield to the Caribbean.

In this way, import/export goods from Surinam, French Guiana, the Antilles or Brazil could be directly
routed to Dégrad-des-Cannes via vessels with characteristics that allow them to dock without constraints
in the ports of the Guiana Shield with limited water depth.

This short-distance maritime transport service will be aimed at parcel deliveries, especially small packets,
and focused on domestic markets that are not targeted by major transporters such as CMA CGM.

This new service would represent an opportunity for small commercial units (rice, soja, corn sectors),
which are currently constrained to wait 45 days to receive their products. These would have their lead
times divided by 9, and transport costs reduced by a factor of 2.5 in the case of a twenty-foot container.

This project to develop a short sea shipping line, which aims to both develop and stabilise the economic
flow of goods, is complementary to the creation of a EU border post for checks on imports of these
goods, and the development of a veritable inter-regional market.

An international call for expression of interest has already been launched and several companies are
candidates for this fluvio-maritime inter-regional market.
