DRY PORT IN FRENCH GUIANA EAST SIDE

French Guiana is located at the heart of a trading tryptic: It is part of the European Union whilst being
anchored between the Caricom area, represented on the Guiana Shield by Guyana and Surinam, and
the Mercosur area, thanks to the border it shares with Brazil.

In the eastern part, the state of Amapà, with a population of 800,000, is principally supplied by Belém
while a strong demand for French products, in particular household appliances, has been identified.

The Saint-Georges Dry Port project will translate into the installation of a logistics platform of several
tens of hectares, with a sub-customs area, and having the aim to respond to this import/export demand
for products from Brazil or French Guiana. This infrastructure would also allow French Guiana to become
a link between Brazil and Surinam, which would like to supply Macapá thanks to the use of a multimodal
              route: road, river and sea.

This smart customs border would be developed using a completely dematerialised approach and
would propose a veritable trading area. The installation of reception container Terminal and storage
warehouses would coinhabit with related activities in the area of passengers and goods road transport.

For example, a duty-free area close to the Oyapock bridge linking French Guiana to Brazil, could be
developed, allowing the construction of a bus terminal with parking areas. These projects, which would
help to promote tourism, would boost the economic growth of this part of the region.

The project, which is based on a partnership with SEBRAE (Brazilian enterprise support service) and
eligible for the PCIA (Amazonian Inter-regional Cooperation Programme), is in the call-for-tender phase
for launching the first studies. Further studies will define the challenges.
