DOORS

While ambling along the
alleyways of Vias, allow
yourself to be enchanted by

the old-world feel and the
history represented by the
sculpted 17th-century doors.
These doors are divided into 3
categories:

- Doors inspired by the Italian
5 architect Sebastiano Serlio

- The square door with broken
curved pediments

6 - Square doors with no
pediment and an entablature.

14 These consist of three bays: a

central bay topped by an arch
and two side bays featuring
7 lintels in line with the fanlight.

Typical of the Louis XIV style,
the Hôtel Dieu’s square door
with entablature and an ogee
jamb is the only remnant of this
14 era in Vias.
